In connection with World Water Day on March 22, we at MERCHLAB developed a t-shirt together with Butcher’s Lab and PlanBørnefonden.

The starting point is simple, but hard to fully grasp:
In some of the driest parts of Africa, women spend up to an hour every day collecting water. They carry containers weighing up to 20 kg across rough terrain in extreme heat. Sometimes with a child on their back. At the same time, 2 billion people lack access to clean drinking water. Every other minute, a child dies as a result of unsafe water.

As part of the campaign, focus has been placed on one simple challenge:
How far can you walk in 1 hour carrying 20 kg?

The t-shirt helps support that story. A physical piece that can help start conversations and create awareness.
